Job Description / Duties:
Assist in the development of exterior spaces, physical environments and
comprehensive urban strategies;
Design and draw compelling and innovative projects;
Must take into consideration a project's purpose, size and geographic data in
design recommendations;
Coordinate design efforts with civil, architecture design, systems and structural
engineering;
Prepare overview of final project design drawings and communication materials
to engage local communities, state or federal agencies as well as developing
schematic designs and feasibility studies, helping in cost estimation of project;
Coordinate projects with local, state, regional and federal agencies to ensure
compliance with applicable standards;
Work under the supervision of project managers, and contribute to multiple
teams; must be flexible and inspired;
Advance ideas and concepts at all levels and all scales; imagine innovative
designs to address context specific issues;
Must push and develop innovative representation and technical techniques
(video, data visualization, diagram, 3D fabrication) to reflect SCAPE’s ongoing
pursuit of innovation;
Help convey and represent the ideas and initiatives being developed in the
office;
Skills & Requirements:
Skilled in the art of design.
Communication and managerial skills;
Excellent research and graphic design abilities;
Tools & Tech: Adobe Creative Suite: Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe
Aftereffects, Adobe Premiere, Adobe InDesign; Autocad, ArcGIS, Rhinoceros,
Pix4D, Sketchup; MS Office.
Video production; Web design and new technologies.
Education & Experience:
Master’s in Urban Design
2 years related experience
